Bubbs turning five

I was about to go to bed, just when it hit me. My son will be five years old in just under an hour. Where has the time gone?
I can remember just like it was yesterday, Conor and I imagining meeting our son for the very first time.
We knew his first name would be William (as Conor and his dad's first names were), but we wanted a distinct, strong, not too common middle (but main) name, God gave us the name Kaleb.

Kaleb was suppose to be born April 23rd, but as he would have it, he incubated a little longer. The one things I've learned about my son, he doesn't take to change easily. He's scared, he's fearful, his tummy get's in knots at the unexpected things of life. For the longest time I'd wake up to him asking "what are we gonna do today mommy?", because truly, he wants to know what to expect, he wants to be ready for the things that are about to happen. Thus, he stayed in my tummy for about two weeks past his due date.
After a yummy meal at Olive Garden (cause I knew it'd be my last for a while) and after 26 hours of inducing his arrival, I met my baby boy William Kaleb Aderhold just a little past midnight on May 2nd 2007.

A brand new momma and brand new baby.

The following years speak for themselves, cause they've literally flown by.

First year of homeschooling and loving it!

Note, his jamies are too small, so Mum cut the feet off
Just last week you made your very first purchase with your very own money. You're a big boy already.

I think I've managed to capture every facial expression he most commonly makes. Its been amazing seeing the transformation of this little life that's come from me turn into such an incredible little boy. A boy that's rambunctious, full of energy, excitement. A little boy with such an amazing heart to love others. His prayer requests lately have been "for daddy to have Jesus in his heart and for the poor". A little boy that hates change, yet has grasped onto the hem of God over the last two years as the most complicated changes in his life have occurred.

Bubbs,
I love you for reasons I cannot even list. You have taught me more in the past five years than you can ever imagine. Your tender heart makes my heart ache to love and care the way you do. You work so hard to be that good little boy and I see it. I see you praying for God to use you and take your "fears" away. You keep me accountable to be a Godly momma. You make me cry, you make me smile, you make me laugh and you make me very proud to call you my son. May God guide and direct your paths in His will and not your own. May you learn from my mistakes and seek God in all you do. I pray God takes your strong willed bold personality to be a fighter just like David. I pray you fight for the Kingdom of God at any age and in all you do.Be that strong warrior for God baby. I love you and Happy Birthday.... Always, Momma.
