Anchor of my soul

 ANCHOR OF MY SOUL

"Six is a big kid age. You aren't considered a little kid anymore, you'll have more responsibility and will have to start doing some things on your own" were the words John spoke to K last night as we were driving. I looked back to see K intently thinking, as the question was asked "how are you going to spend your last day as a five year old?". Just what and how was he going to spend that last day?

Earlier today, I asked K to pick up his room, he ran immediately and responded "I can mom cause I'm gonna be a big kid tomorrow". 

My big kid is six tomorrow. I fretted about having a five year old last year (K's 5th Birthday), and now six. Six amazing things that have happened this year for K.

1. He wrote his first letter (even if it was to himself)
2. He got his first stitches
3. He played on his first soccer team
4. He got his very first visit from the tooth fairy
5. He started kindergarten
6. He made his very first purchase with his very own money (YAY!!)

With tonight as he held up in excitement his six fingers.

K, you were thought of far before I even knew of your existence, you were created in the depths of my womb before anyone could detect just as God had designed. You were fearfully and wonderfully made into the beautiful young child you are today.

Baby, as you grow from a "little kid" to an "older kid" please know there will be new experiences and you may not have the securities you need to venture into what God wills for you. I pray this song for you. That despite who's next to you, you will rest assured on the anchor of God in your life. Be still and know that He is Lord, and whenever or wherever you are He is on the throne and fighting for victory over you. I love you.
