Birthdays and baby's

So I had another one of those which-a-ma-calls-it.....birthdays. I turned 33. I enjoyed a wonderful day going to church with my boys, having lunch with my parents and seeing one of the most talked about movies out there. You know it, Monster's University. When you get to my age you get your greatest thrill seeing your children happy and excited. Although I think I was more excited about the movie than they were.
And this is that awkward pucture where the boys actually smile nicely and I ruin the picture with a silly face.

That night I was taken on a lovely date by John. We went to my favorite~Mastro's for some delicious food. Thirty-three started out good. I remember celebrating last years birthday (32) and saying "I'm looking forward to the lessons I'll learn, the experiences I'll have and the way's in which I'll grow." I look back and realize how God must have been gazing down on me and grinning as He saw this amazing man in my future.

 It was a great day.

Within day's after my birthday the boy's and I, along with the rest of the family welcomed grandchild #6 into the world, R.J~

R.J. was known to have cleft palate and cleft lip revealed through an ultrasound at 20 weeks. I didn't share this with the boy's until they saw this picture. They asked why his lip was like that. I told them that his little lip hadn't connected and that was just how God had made him. He wasn't too early or too late, God created him this very perfect way and in time his lip would be fixed. I grew anxious as to what they'd say next. But they just answered "ok". They received the news well.
R.J. was 6 lbs 12 oz and 19.5 inches long born on July 10th @ 9:04. The best part was my mom told me my sister rushed to the hospital and before I could think of what to do, these boy's (that were supposed to be in bed), were changed into day clothes and ready to rush to the hospital. They were very excited.

That morning we had just seen Auntie Rae as we took her out for a day after her Birthday breakfast.
Baby R.J. will need some getting used to. These two boy's have been spoiled with Auntie Rae's love and attention.
By the time we got to the hospital R. J. had been born and we were waiting to visit.

Just about an hour after the baby was born.

Naomi and I welcoming our youngest sister to the world of Motherhood.

Since then I've had to hold down the fort since my babysitter/mom has asked for "family leave". The boy's have been anxious to meet R.J. and have only been able to see pictures so far. Cousin R.J. may be released from the NICU tomorrow so they are excited to finally meet him later this week. My sisters story is being told here.
John and I went to visit R.J. This past weekend and I can't believe how he's growing so fast. He already looks a little older from his birthdate.

John and Ryan both look super manly in these cool gowns everyone has to wear in the NICU. They look super excited for my picture too.

Despite the chaos of this past week God has been so good to provide all He does day to day. He's been giving my mom energy and stamina to be there for my sister and Uncle Ryan. My other sister and I have worked well together in babysitting for one another and all the boy's have been very supportive and flexible with the craziness of life's surprises. I've been saying this more frequently "life goes faster the older you get", and so in fact it seems true. For I have been 33 for a little over a week and my birthday still seems like it was yesterday.

4th of July Memory making

Our 4th of July was a great day! We had fun on the Sweeton Ranch with family jumping, running and horseback riding. Then we traveled over to Whittier for some firework action. It was a funfilled memory making kinda day. Oh! And I got a new camera (Thanks John) for my birthday so I'm exploring the potential of my cameras capabilities.

We are very blessed to have access to this beautiful place.
Thank you Sweetons!

We packed up the care and headed to Whittier where Ama lives. We were a wee bit hungry so nothing sounded more American than a good burger.
And we loaded up on some fireworks stock.

I have had many 4th of July memories doing just this as a kid. This is 4th generation of fireworks at this house.

And photobombing was a theme...

Candid, my very favorite kind. I wonder what he's thinking.

Precious!

I love that they're all smiling!
Happy 237th birthday America! I am thankful for the many men and women who have sacrificed to make this the
'Land of the Free'!
I am honored to be an American!
